Summary
Agyō, one of the two Niō guardians at the Nandai-mon in front of the Todai ji in Nara. These are some of the finest wooden sculptures in Japan from the 13th century carved by Unkei in 1203. The sculpture is behind some chicken wire, causing the grainy look. Metal bars supporting the chicken wire have been edited out.
