current01:48, 5 January 2017Thumbnail for version as of 01:48, 5 January 20172,197 × 3,300 (2.25 MB)127.0.0.1 (talk)The Operation Banner Service held at St Paul's Cathedral on Wednesday, 10 September 2008. <p>The 300,000 members of the Armed Forces who served on Operation Banner in Northern Ireland, were honoured at a service in St Paul’s Cathedral, London, today, Wednesday 10 September 2008. </p> <p>The service was held in the presence of more than 2,000 veterans and their families along with <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles,_Prince_of_Wales" class="extiw" title="w:Charles, Prince of Wales">The Prince of Wales</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camilla,_Duchess_of_Cornwall" class="extiw" title="w:Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall">The Duchess of Cornwall</a>, Prime Minister <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Brown" class="extiw" title="w:Gordon Brown">Gordon Brown</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher" class="extiw" title="w:Margaret Thatcher">Baroness Thatcher</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Blair" class="extiw" title="w:Tony Blair">Tony Blair</a>, Defence Secretary <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Des_Browne" class="extiw" title="w:Des Browne">Des Browne</a>, Veterans Minister <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Twigg" class="extiw" title="w:Derek Twigg">Derek Twigg</a> and Chief of the Defence Staff <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jock_Stirrup" class="extiw" title="w:Jock Stirrup">Air Chief Marshal Sir Jock Stirrup</a>. </p> <p>Thanks were given to the many Servicemen and women from across all three Services, along with the many civil servants who served in Northern Ireland.
