Bucha (Ukrainian: Буча) is a city in Ukraine's Kiev Oblast. Administratively, it is incorporated as a city of oblast significance. In 2001, according to the census, population was 28,533. Current population: 28,483 (2013 est.)[1].
Bucha was assigned city status on February 9, 2006.[2] Before 1996 Bucha was a town subordinant to Irpin city.
There is a glass factory in Bucha.
The town's main landmark is a 19th-century railway station.
Author Mikhail Bulgakov stayed in Bucha with his family during the summer season in his cottage.
