Fifth Kohl cabinet

Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. The fifth and final cabinet led by Helmut Kohl was sworn in on November 15, 1994 and laid down its function on October 27, 1998. The cabinet was formed after the 1994 elections. It laid down its function after the formation of the Cabinet Schröder I, which was formed following the 1998 elections.

The composition of the cabinet changed three times:

  • January 17, 1996 – Edzard Schmidt-Jortzig (FDP) succeeds Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger as Minister of Justice.
  • December 31, 1997 – The Ministry of Posts and Communications is abolished.
  • January 14, 1998 – Eduard Oswald succeeds Töpfer as Minister of Construction.
