Summary

The coat of arms of the República de Nicaragua consists of a triangle (representing equality) with a rainbow and five volcanoes representing the five countries of Central America. In the upper center, a red phrygian cap (ES: gorro frigio),a symbol of liberty (also used by the jacobins during the French Revolution), i.e., the independence of Central America from Spain. Surrounding the triangle, the words República de Nicaragua and América Central arranged in a circle; the first in the upper part, the second in the lower. The blue color is officially defined as 'cobalt blue'; Pantone 300C used here is recommended by Album des Pavillons and [1].
