This is a 1790 watercolor, pen and ink, painting depicting <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Saint-Jean_(Quebec)" class="extiw" title="w:Fort Saint-Jean (Quebec)">Fort Saint-Jean</a> around the time of the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Fort_St._Jean" class="extiw" title="w:Siege of Fort St. Jean">1775 siege of the fort</a>. The ship in the foreground is the HMS Royal George.

View keyed (asterisk have been supplied in transcription to distinguish the two sets of check marks) in ink c.l. to c.r.: v / vv / vv[*] / a / b / v[*] / d. / c Inscribed in ink on mount l.l.: [cropped] Peachey Ensn. 60 Regt. From the Original View taken by J. Hunter. R. Regt. Arty.; l.c.: A South West View of St. John's / Shewing the Fort and the Detach'd Redoubt with the Blockhouse opposite,; l.l.
