Joseph Macmanus was appointed the new U.S. Ambassador to International Organizations in Vienna in 2012,[1] with 26 years experience as a diplomat behind him.
In March 2013, he came to international attention when he accused Iran of deception at a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Authority[2] and then, with the Canadian, Australian and New Zealand envoys,[3] stormed out of the meeting after Iran criticised Israel.[4][5]
