- Mawlid an Nabi, the birth of the Prophet Muhammad
- Birth of Imam Mahdi (since 1960)
- Eid al-Ghadeer, commemorates the appointment of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib by Prophet Muhammad as his immediate successor
Population estimates
Shia population in Benin is estimated between one to twelve percent of the total Muslim population of Benin, according to Pew Forum it is less than one percent[2] while as per Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly the population of Shia in Benin is around twelve percent of the total Muslim population of Benin.[3]
