"The New Pollution" is a single by Beck, taken from his album Odelay. The song samples the single "Venus" by Joe Thomas.[1]
Contents
Music video
The music video, directed by Beck himself, features 1960's-style dancing and background. The music video contains visual references from French singer Serge Gainsbourg's music videos for "Monsieur William" and the Histoire de Melody Nelson. The video was nominated for 5 1997 MTV VMA awards such as Video Of The Year, and Best Alternative Video, and he won Best Direction In A Video, Best Choreography In A Video, and Best Art Direction In A Video.[2]
The video features actress Mary Lynn Rajskub.
