William Elliot Gonzalez (1866 – October 20, 1937) was the United States Ambassador to Cuba from 1913 to 1919 and the United States Ambassador to Peru from 1919 to 1921.

He was born in 1866 to Ambrosio José Gonzales and Harriet Rutledge Elliott. On February 2, 1887 he married Sarah C. Shiver. He served in the U.S. Army during the Spanish–American War. He was later the United States Ambassador to Cuba from 1913 to 1919. He was the United States Ambassador to Peru from 1919 to 1921. He died on October 20, 1937.[1] He was buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Columbia, South Carolina.[2]
