Vercelli (Italian: Provincia di Vercelli) is a province in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. Its capital is Vercelli.

As of 2011, it has an area of 2,088 square kilometres (806 sq mi) and a total population of 179,232. There are 86 communes in the province (source: Italian institute of statistics Istat, see this link). Is famous for the cultivation of Rice.

Main sights

In 2003, the Sacred Mountain of Varallo was inserted by UNESCO in the World Heritage List.

Other historical sights include the Basilica of Sant'Andrea in Vercelli. There are also numerous natural sights in the Valsesia area.
