St. Francis DeSales High School is located in Columbus, Ohio and is part of the Catholic Diocese of Columbus. The school has an enrollment of approximately 840 students, in four grade levels. A student's four year journey at St. Francis DeSales High School will be personal, engaging and challenging; innovative courses and passionate faculty help to develop a broad range of critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills to ensure each individual realizes their academic potential. The iPad 1:1 program, coupled with Google Apps for communication and collaboration, has created a true 21st Century learning environment that prepares students for continued academic success. A St. Francis DeSales High School education is also rooted in the Catholic Tradition, providing opportunities to know God, grow in faith and serve the community.

St. Francis DeSales High School is located in Columbus, Ohio. Students come from the Columbus Public School District and suburban school districts: Big Walnut, Delaware, Gahanna Jefferson, Lewis Center, New Albany-Plain Local, Olentangy, Westerville and Worthington.

History

Founded in 1960, St. Francis DeSales High School began with the values of Faith, Family and Tradition. The community was envisioned by Monsignor James M. Berendt who had been chosen to form the co-ed high school. Today there are over 900 students and the faculty and staff size has also grown.

Awards

St. Francis DeSales High School is the recipient of two Blue Ribbon Awards of Excellence in Education.

Clubs and activities

Over 90% of the students are involved in the arts, athletics, student government, or one of the many clubs and organizations offered on campus. The school offers Latin Club, Italian Club, French Club, Spanish Club, Chinese Club, Business Club, Engineering Club, St. Vincent DePaul, a National Honors Society chapter, Drama Club, Art Club, Student Council, Model UN Club, Mock Trial, Environmental Club, Equus, Math Club, Horizons (Liturgical Choir), Band, Flag Corps, Writing Club, Wrestling Stats, In-the-Know, History Club, Ski Club, Yoga Club, Student Ambassadors, Stallion TACK, and Fishing Club.

Athletics

Recognized throughout the state of Ohio as a perennial power, St. Francis DeSales High School is proud of its inter-scholastic sports programs. SFD's competitive athletics program reinforces lifelong values such as the importance of commitment, the necessity of teamwork, and the benefit of physical activity.
