1896 in Argentine football saw Lomas AC attempt to win its 4th successive Argentine championship, but the title was finally won by its related team Lomas Academy, which played its last tournament being then dissolved.[1] Buenos Aires al Rosario Railway merged with Belgrano Athletic Club which debuted that season.[2]
