The 1992-93 Miami Heat season is the 5th season of the Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Despite the addition of John Salley, who won two championships with the Detroit Pistons, the Heat got off to a sluggish start as they were bitten by the injury bug with Steve Smith missing the first 34 games of the season. The Heat finished fifth in the Atlantic Division with a 36-46 record, missing the playoffs. Rookie Harold Miner won the Slam Dunk Contest during the All-Star Weekend in Utah.
