The 1992-93 Miami Heat season is the 5th season of the Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association (NBA).[1] Despite the addition of John Salley, who won two championships with the Detroit Pistons, the Heat got off to a sluggish start as they were bitten by the injury bug with Steve Smith missing the first 34 games of the season. The Heat finished fifth in the Atlantic Division with a 36-46 record, missing the playoffs. Rookie Harold Miner won the Slam Dunk Contest during the All-Star Weekend in Utah.
