Club career
Aleksandar Živković rose to prominence during his spell at FK Rad, which he joined during the 1995/96 season.[1] After five seasons with FK Rad he left in May 2000, moving from his native FR Yugoslavia to play for Júbilo Iwata of the J. League Division 1, the top professional football league in Japan. Playing as a midfielder, his skills were well suited to providing accurate crosses for forwards. During his time in Japan he played a total of 56 games, all for Júbilo Iwata, and scored 7 goals. He then moved to Shandong Luneng of the China Super League, taking up a pivotal role in the team's midfield, leading in assists twice during his four years there.
On 5 September 2009, during a match against Qingdao Jonoon, he was yellow-carded for a foul and spat on the referee in protest. The Chinese Football Association imposed an eight-match ban with an 80,000 RMB fine. Subsequently, Shandong Luneng terminated his contract for poor conduct. On 7 March 2010, he signed a contract with Shenzhen Ruby.[2]
International career
Živković has earned 2 caps for Serbia, both coming in 2001.[1] He was also a member of Serbian squad at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where he was one of three players born before 1 January 1985, who were allowed to enter the competition. Živković played in all three matches before Serbia was eliminated in the group phase of the competition.
