The Men's downhill competition of the Calgary 1988 Olympics was held at Nakiska on Mount Allan.[1]
The defending world champion was Peter Müller of Switzerland, while Switzerland's Pirmin Zurbriggen was the defending World Cup downhill champion and led the 1988 World Cup.[2][3]
The race was postponed a day due to winds that gusted to 98 mph (158 km/h) at the summit; Zurbriggen took the gold and Müller the silver.[4][5]
