Ananas erectifolius is a species of plant closely related to the pineapple. The species is native to South America (Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, northern Brazil, French Guiana).[1]
The fruit is small and holds little commercial value as food. It is often grown as an ornamental plant or as a houseplant. Its leaves have spines with stripes of colors. The species is closely related to A. lucidus and sometimes regarded as a synonym of that species.[2]
