Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (Marathi: बहुजन विकास आघाडी) (Majority Development Front) is a political party in Maharashtra, India.

Formerly, it was known as Vasai Vikas Aghadi but it was renamed later. BVA is based amongst the vadaval community. The party leader is Hitendra Thakur, a former Independent candidate and current member of the Maharashtra legislative assembly.

Baliram Sukur Jadhav of the BVA, backed by Hitendra Thakur, was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha in 2009 and declared unconditional support to the UPA government.[2]

Election History

General Election

In 2009, General Election (15th Lok Sabha), Bahujan Vikas Aghadi Bagged Palghar (Lok Sabha constituency) Seat.

In 2014, Bahujan Vikas Aghadi didn't retain the seat & drew blank.

Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election

In 2009, Bahujan Vikas Aghadi bagged 2 seats Boisar were Vilas Tare & Nalasopara were Kshitij Thakur won the election.

In 2014, Bahujan Vikas Aghadi increased its tally to 3 seats Boisar were Vilas Tare & Nalasopara were Kshitij Thakur & Vasai were Hitendra Thakur won the election.

Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation

In 2015, The BVA swept the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation polls by winning 106 seats. Vasai elected its first woman Mayor, Pravina Thakur representing the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi also the wife of Hitendra Thakur, MLA from Vasai.
