Ben Price (born 1 January 1972) is a British actor, writer and director.

Early life

Price grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne where he attended Gosforth East Middle School and Gosforth High School before taking acting classes at The Live Theatre.[1] He then attended The Drama Centre and graduated from The Central School of Speech and Drama in 1996, in the same class as Sarah Manners and Rebecca Lenkiewicz.

Career

Price started by running his own theatre company in the North East of England. On moving to London, he studied acting at the Drama Centre and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He worked predominantly in film and television.

The first film Price directed, "I'm sorry to tell you", played at the New York Independent film festival, London Short film festival, one shot film festival and the Ifilmaker festival, and elsewhere. Price set up the production company Bolo Films, a collective of filmmakers from the north of England.

He played Corporate Director Nathan Spencer in Casualty [2] between 2005 and 2007, and was voted one of the ten actors most likely to succeed in Hollywood by "Stage and Screen" magazine. Price appeared on the July 2006 cover of Out magazine.[citation needed]

In 2009 he appeared in the third season of The Tudors, playing the martyr John Lambert.[3]

Price joined Coronation Street as Nick Tilsley in 2009., being seen on screen for the first time on 21 December 2009[4]
