Bronwyn Ellis (born 8 March 1999) is an English singer from Bolton Greater Manchester, England.[1] In June 2014, She was a contestant at a "star spotting" talent event held at Bolton's Holiday Inn. Despite The X Factor rejection, Bronwyn was offered to sign a record deal with Tiger Entertainment Records.[2] In January 2016, Her manager and lawyer persuaded her to adopt a new stage name.

Early life and education

Ellis was born in Bolton Greater Manchester, England, She attended St. Maxentius Primary School, Turton High School and Bury Sixth Form College. She started writing music when she was 15 years old. In 2013, Bronwyn attended Dawson's Academy of Dance and Stage,[3] she dropped out after two years. As of 2016, She's currently training at a local college in Performing Arts, Musical Theater for two years.

Bronwyn began performing at theater shows in Bolton town in 2012. In February 2014, she applied for the Teen Star Singing Competition,[4] and reached the regional finals of 'Teen Star' that were held in Manchester, performing Demi Lovato's Give Your Heart A Break,[5]

In June 2014 at the age of fifteen, Bronwyn auditioned at a talent event run by Tiger Entertainment in her hometown, performing Jessie J's Casualty Of Love.[6] Anthony Costa of the band Blue praised her voice and appearance at the event. Costa and the agent from Tiger Entertainment chose Bronwyn as the winner, and later in the month Ellis signed a record deal with Tiger Entertainment, and began work writing her debut EP.

Bronwyn met her current manager Karen Walters in 2014 at a singing competition in her hometown, and she helped Bronwyn to get into her 12 month contract with Tiger Entertainment.

In July 2014, Ellis announced in an interview that she had begun working on material for her extended play.[7][8][9]

Ellis had begun working with a songwriter and music producer not long after signing the recording contract in June 2014.[2]

On 26 February 2016, Bronwyn released seven videos on her YouTube channel, singing her favorite songs by artists, Jessie J, Beyonce, Little Mix, Duffy, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Rihanna and Sam Smith.[10]

Bronwyn possesses a mezzo-soprano vocal range of three octaves and two notes. She took vocal lessons from an Academy of Dance and Stage in 2013.

Bronwyn stated her inspiring artists, they include Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith, James Bay, Rihanna, Duffy, Amy Winehouse, Lana Del Rey, Tove Lo, Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX,Becky Hill and Foxes.[11]

She also stated her musical influences, Dj Robopop, Clean Bandit, StarGate, Circut, Justin Parker, Emile Haynie, Teddy Geiger, Zedd, Disclosure, Eric Prydz.
