Buford High School is a public four year comprehensive high school located in Buford, Georgia USA, in the northern Metro Atlanta area.
History
The school was opened in 1948. In 2009, Buford was awarded a silver award for Highest Percentage of Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards. The award is given by the State of Georgia Governor's Office of Achievement. The school has a student to teacher ratio of 15 to 1.[citation needed]
Academics
The school, for the 2010-2011 school year, had the highest passing rate in the Georgia Graduation Test, with 96% passing. Buford also ranks in the top 6% of students who pass AP courses.[citation needed]
Literary meet
The literary team at Buford High School has won eleven Georgia High School Association State Literary Championships (1976, 1980, 1982, 1985, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013).[1]
