For the purposes of this category, "Eastern Canada" is defined in accordance with the World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions. That is, the geographic region is defined by the political boundaries of its constituents:
- Labrador (separate from Newfoundland even though they are politically united)
- New Brunswick
- Newfoundland (separate from Labrador even though they are politically united) and including the French overseas territory of Saint Pierre and Miquelon
- Nova Scotia
- Ontario
- Prince Edward Island
- Quebec
