"Clubbed to Death" is a 1995 instrumental composition by Rob Dougan. It appeared in the 1996 film Clubbed to Death and was given renewed attention in 1999 due to its inclusion in the film The Matrix. It was re-released as a single in 2002 with new remixes.

The subtitle Kurayamino variation is based on the Japanese for "of the darkness" (暗闇 の(くらやみ の) kurayami no. It denotes Dougan's own mix in a tragic style, as well as his stated inspirations from dark Japanese writers like Yukio Mishima or Yasunari Kawabata.[1]

"Clubbed to Death" samples "It's a New Day" by Skull Snaps.[2]

The short strings introduction is an excerpt from the first movement of Edward Elgar's Enigma Variations, and the piano solo is improvised around Enigma Variations.[3]
