Convention against Discrimination in Education

Convention against Discrimination in Education is a multilateral treaty adopted by UNESCO on 14 December 1960 in Paris aiming to combat segregation in the field of education. The Convention also ensures the free choice of religious education and private school, right to use or teach their own languages for national minorities. and prohibits any reservation. It has entered into force in 1962. There is an additional Protocol Instituting a Conciliation and Good offices Commission, adopted in 1962 and entering force in 1968. As at 2015, the Convention has 101 member states (counting China relating to Macau only), and the Protocol has 35 (counting Vietnam; post-unification Vietnam has not expressed a position on whether it succeeds pre-unification South Vietnam as member of protocol).

This Convention is also referred to in the Preamble of United Nations Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.
