Eli Dershwitz is an American fencer. He has represented the United States at 2 Under-17 World Championships, 4 Under-20 World Championships, and 3 Senior World Championships where he competed in Men's Saber. Eli Dershwitz is also a current student at Harvard University where he is a member of the varsity fencing team.[16] He is coached by Zoran Tulum.[17]

Competition History

Dershwitz is a 5-time Junior World and Cadet World Championship team member, and is the 2015, Under 20 World Champion making him the only American Men's Saber Fencer to win a world title.[18] In April of 2014, Dershwitz became the Men's Sabre National Champion.[19][20][21] In 2013, Dershwitz qualified for the Senior World Fencing Championships, where he finished 36th after a 15-12 loss to Matyas Szabo (GER). Dershwitz was also the youngest member of the US national team in 2013 at 17 years of age.[22] He also competed at the 2014 Senior World Championships in Kazan, Russia, and the 2015 Senior World Championships in Moscow Russia. [23][24] Dershwitz is also a 3 time Pan-American Champion. He won individual gold medals in San Jose, Costa Rica in 2014, and in Santiago, Chile in 2015. He also won a Team Gold Medal in Cartagena, Colombia in 2013.[25] Dershwitz also won 2 Gold Medals at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.[26]
