It is unknown how many riders competed in the 1900 Summer Olympics Equestrian hacks and hunter combined competition. The top four placers are known, as are eight more riders who also competed (including one woman). As an upper limit, 50 men and 1 woman are listed as entrants in the Official Report, but it is almost certain that not all actually competed.

Mallon and de Wael have included this event in their Olympic lists; however, those lists were created before the International Olympic Committee had made a decisive ruling on which events and sports at the 1900 and 1904 Summer Olympics were truly Olympic. The IOC does not list the winners of the hacks and hunter combined event as medallists in its results database.
