Eric Shauwn Brazas Cray (born November 11, 1988) is a Filipino American track and field athlete who competes in sprinting and hurdling events. He represented his country at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics, competing in the hurdles.[1] He won gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games in 2013 and 2015. Cray currently holds the Filipino national record for the 400 metres hurdles and 100 metres.
Cray was born in Olongapo City in Zambales to a Filipina Mother and an American Father. He holds dual American-Filipino citizenship but chose to compete for the Philippines at his mother's request. He began the sport back when he was in high school. He has a degree in Education at Bethune-Cookman University and a master's degree in Human Relations at University of Oklahoma.[2]
He set a new national record and games record in the 400 m hurdles while winning at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games, setting a time of 49.40 seconds.[3][4] Cray managed to win a bronze at the 60 m event at the 2016 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships.[5]
