General Freeman Murray CB was a British Army officer who became General Officer Commanding Eastern District.

Military career

Murray was commissioned as an ensign in the 64th Regiment of Foot on 5 March 1825.[1] He served as Governor of Bermuda from 1854 to 1859 and again from 1860 to 1861.[2] He went on to be General Officer Commanding, Chatham District in January 1867 and General Officer Commanding Eastern District in April 1870.[3] Murray was also Colonel of the King's Royal Rifle Corps.[4]
