Gheorghe Covaciu (born July 8, 1957 in Buzău) is a Romanian former handball player who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics.
He was a member of the Romanian handball team which won the bronze medal. He played four matches and scored three goals.
He played for HC Minaur Baia Mare, Benfica and Sporting Clube de Portugal as well as BM Ciudad Real in Spain, before finishing his career in Germany.
After he retired from active play, he became a coach.
