Gideon Glick (born June 6, 1988) is an American stage performer and movie actor. His Broadway work includes the role of Ernst in the musical Spring Awakening.

Biography

Glick is Jewish,[1] and graduated from Lower Merion High School.[2] He is openly gay.[1] Glick has stated in interviews that he came out when he was in the seventh grade.[1]

Career

Glick played Ernst, an adolescent boy seduced by bisexual Hanschen, originated by Jonathan B. Wright, in the original cast of the hit musical Spring Awakening. He played "Slap" in the 2005 film One Last Thing....[3] He then played the role of "Howie" in Speech and Debate (Roundabout Underground),[4][5] a play by emerging playwright Stephen Karam, which began in October 2007 and ran until early 2008.[6] He also appeared in a west-coast production of the same play.[citation needed] He played Aladdin in the 2004 workshop production of Disney's Aladdin Junior.[7] Glick was playing the role of Jimmy-6, a member of the "Geek Chorus" in Broadway's Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, until it was cut during the show's lengthy previews.[8] Glick earned positive reviews for his portrayal of Jack in The Public Theater's production of Into the Woods.[9]
