Gliese 251 is a nearby red dwarf star of spectral type M4.0, located in constellation Gemini at 18.22 light-years from Earth.[1]:{{{3}}}

History of observations

The discovery name of this star is Wolf 294.[7]:{{{3}}} This indicates that it is known at least from 1919, when proper motion stellar catalogue by Max Wolf was published.[8]:{{{3}}}[9]:{{{3}}}
