Graham Holroyd (born 25 October 1975) is an English rugby league player who currently plays for Halifax as a stand off. He rejoined Halifax after a two-year spell with Swinton. Holroyd played for Leeds in the 1994 and 1995 challenge cup finals at Wembley Stadium at scrum half, and from the substitutes bench in their 1998 Super League Grand Final loss to Wigan. He is also the youngest player in Rugby League history to amass 500 career points whilst at Leeds.[1] He won the Championship with Halifax in 2010, beating Featherstone Rovers 23-22.
Representative career
In 1998, he played for Emerging England in a 15–12 win against Wales.[2] He had been named in the Ireland training squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup but was not included in the final side due to a knee injury sustained in training.[3][4]He also played for Siddal ARLFC before beginning his profeesional career.
Rugby Union career
Although Graham spent most of his career playing rugby league he did spend several seasons playing rugby union at northern clubs Halifax (2002-03) and Preston Grasshoppers (2011-12), accumulating almost 400 points as the main kicker for both sides.[5][6]
