Hungary returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany, after previously entering in 2009 with Zoli Ádok singing "Dance with me", placing fifteenth in the second semi-final.[1][2] This was the country's ninth participation in the contest since 1994.[3]
Internal selection
On 7 March 2011, MTV announced, that they will select their entry for Düsseldorf internally.[4] On 9 March 2011, MTV officially presented Kati Wolf as the Hungarian representative in Germany with the song: "What about my dreams?".[5]
At Eurovision
Hungary started their Eurovision campaign with Kati Wolf being selected from the National Final. Hungary drew starting position 15 for the first semi final on May 10, 2011. The song "What About My Dreams?" drew a positive reaction from the crowd during her performance in the first semi. After voting Hungary earned a spot in the final with 7th place and 72 points. After the semi-final, Hungary drew position 5 for the grand final and earned 22nd place with 53 points.
