The Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg – is one of The Art Institutes, a system of more than 40 for-profit educational institutions located throughout North America, providing education in design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts. in Schaumburg, Illinois,

Founded in 1916 as The Commercial Art School, the college was one of the first applied art and design schools in the United States [1]. The college became widely known in the 1930s as Ray-Vogue School and was renamed Ray College of Design in 1981. The school grew to include the Schaumburg location in 1983 and in 1995, the college joined The Art Institutes system of schools.

The Illinois Institute of Art is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission [2].

The Illinois Institute of Art- Schaumburg is also a sponsor of the Annual ARTimation digital film festival, which showcases the best work of students and recent graduates of the school’s Digital Filmmaking & Video Production program [3].

The Art Institutes system is a subsidiary of Education Management Corporation, which is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
