Flower Piece by Jan-Baptist Bosschaert, Groeningemuseum

Jan-Baptist Bosschaert (December 17, 1667 – 1746), was a Flemish painter.

Bosschaert was born and died in Antwerp, and lived and worked there all his life. He specialized in still life paintings, particularly depictions of flowers. He became a free master of the Guild of Saint Luke in 1693.[1] When the painter Ferdinand van Kessel needed to fulfill commissions from the King of Poland he periodically subcontracted other Antwerp painters, including Bosschaert for flower themed works.[2]
