Jenni Baird (born 29 April 1976) is an Australian actress, known for her roles as Paula Morgan on All Saints and Meghan Doyle in The 4400. She is married to Australian scriptwriter Michael Petroni. She gave birth to a baby girl in 2008 and a boy in 2012.

Early career

Baird attended the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, graduating in 1999. She then participated in the 1999 edition of the ANPC/Stages Young Playwrights Weekend.

Career

She received her first film role in the Australian short film, I Promise (1999).

2001 - 2009 : Recognition

Baird grew prominent following her regular appearance in the Seven Network medical drama All Saints as Paula Morgan, Baird appeared from 2001 - 2004 and in 53 Episodes. All Saints was also created by Bevan Lee which who is also the creator of A Place to Call Home. Baird later appeared in TV movie Global Frequency, Baird also appeared in The 4400 as a regular role gaining her further success and fame from the television industry. Also in 2009 Baird featured in the R. W. Goodwin science fiction comedy movie Alien Trespass in which Baird portrays Tammy, an ambitious waitress. In the film Tammy becomes loving towards an alien and in the end falls in love with him however he decides he must return to his home planet rather than remain on earth. Tammy then sets out to search for her own future. Lisa Schwarzbaum praised the film with a B+ score in her review.

2013 : A Place to Call Home

Baird became part of the show A Place to Call Home as the cruel and plotting Mrs Regina Standish, Baird first appears in the Series 1 episode "Cane Toad". In her premiere episode Baird's character is summoned by the Bligh family matriarch Elizabeth Bligh to control her son from falling into an affair with Sarah Adams. In "Cane Toad" Regina is heavily rude to Sarah as when she introduces herself Regina replies "Ah yes...The Jew". Baird then appears in the rest of the episodes in Series 1. Baird then featured in five episodes during Series 2, following Series 2 Baird appeared in all of the episodes in Series 3 in which Baird's character became even more evil going to extreme lengths to get rid of Sarah.

2015:Backtrack and A Place To Call Home Series 4

Baird became a main character in A Place To Call Home Series 3, following only a recurring role in Series 1 and Series 2. Following the conclusion of Series 3 A Place to Call Home was renewed for a fourth series that is due to appear in September 2016. In 2015 Baird appeared in the film Backtrack, in which Baird appears as a main role.

Personal Life

Baird has two children one girl who was born in 2008 and a boy who was born in 2012.
