John Howard Marsden

John Howard Marsden (7 May 1803 – 24 January 1891) was an English antiquary, vicar, and first Disney Professor of Archaeology at the University of Cambridge.
Marsden was educated at Manchester Grammar School and St John's College, Cambridge, graduating with a first-class in the classics tripos in 1826.[1] He became a clergyman. In 1851 he was elected the first Disney Professor of Archaeology, and he held the post until 1865.
