Kusumasana Devi, was a princess of the Kingdom of Kandy on Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) in the sixteenth century. She was the daughter of king Karaliyadde Bandara, but was sent to Portuguese Ceylon as a hostage and brought up in European style, taking the name Dona Catarina. After the death of her father, the Portuguese attempted to depose the new king Vimaladharmasuriya I and install her as a client ruler in the Campaign of Danture. The attempt was a disaster, with Portuguese forces completely wiped out. Vimaladharmasuriya then married Kusumasana Devi to solidify his rule. She later became the queen consort to Senarat of Kandy.
