The following is a list of episodes for the English dramality show The Only Way Is Essex that first aired on ITV2 on 10 October 2010 and has so far aired for 12 series including six specials. As of 11 November 2015, 194 episodes of The Only Way Is Essex have aired. It was confirmed in February 2014 that the show would be moving to new channel ITVBe. The thirteenth series was the first to air on the channel, beginning on 8 October 2014.

It was announced on 13 November 2012 that three festive specials would air in December 2012, with one episode being broadcast live.[43]

Joey and Sams relationship problems continue, with Joeys sister Frankie and his cousin Chloe worrying that Sam will again break his heart and try to clear the air with Sam during a stay at a cottage in the countryside. Lydia moves into her new house, but also has a confession to make- she's leaving Essex. Elsewhere, cracks continue to appear in Mario and Lucys relationship as a trip to the London Eye doesn't end well when the couple argue about their futures, and Danni begins to get close to Charlie again.

With rumours going round that Lucy has spent the night with Mario, Tom is still left confused and has doubts in his mind. Ferne invites Pascal along to a group trip causing awkwardness for Lucy. Tom's flirting with Pascal affects Lucy, and she ends up back in Tom's arms again. The rivalry between the Bloor's and the Wright's continues, and there's tension between Gemma and Bobby as he spends the day with Chloe and Lauren despite Gemma's disapproval. Jasmin confides in Danielle over her feelings towards Dan. Back home, Tom and Mario discover that Lucy has been playing them both. A confused Lucy has a heart to heart with Mario before sharing one last kiss with him and leaving Essex.

Some of the group take a trip to Scotland and Jess and Danni are happy to have a relaxing drama-free break for a change until Gemma urges Lockie and Pete to gate crash and get their respective women. Lewis attempts to make amends after feeling isolated by everybody in Essex, and Mario returns to give Nelly a Christmas gift. Danni isn’t happy at Lockie returning to his old ways, whilst Arg isn’t happy with Arg for grassing him up to Jess. Lauren G is back to give all important advice to Danni, and Arg promises Lydia that 2016 will be their year.

Future

On 3 June 2015 it was revealed that ITV had signed a new contract keeping the show for a further 6 series taking The Only Way Is Essex to Series 21.[44]

Specials

The Only Way Is Essex is filmed only a few days in advance of airing.[45] Filming began in late September/early October, in the town of Brentwood, Essex, where cast member Kirk Norcross' father's bar, The Sugar Hut is located.[46][47] Filming also takes place at Belles & Beaus and Pet Couture,[46] Queens Road in Buckhurst Hill,[46] and The Manor House nightclub in Woodford Bridge.[46] The cast members also visit Faces nightclub in Gants Hill, Greater London, as well as Deuces Bar and the King William IV pub in Chigwell.[48] Series 1 saw Mark Wright open Deuces Bar & Lounge in Chigwell Road.[46]

Ahead of series 2, it was reported that the cast wanted to be paid for starring in the show.[49] The cast were not paid a wage during the first series, but after "having a stand-off with producers and threatening to quit", they agreed to settle on an appearance fee.[50] It turned out the cast are only making 32p more than the National Minimum wage hourly rate of £5.93, earning approximately £50 for a day's work.[51]
