The Lister Hospital in Chelsea is a private hospital in Chelsea Bridge Road, London, run by the Hospital Corporation of America. Opened in 1985,[citation needed] it occupies the buildings in Chelsea previously occupied by the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine. It is named in honour of Joseph Lister, 1st Baron Lister, a British surgeon known as the pioneer of aseptic surgery.

It has 57 beds in inpatient wards on three floors and a six-bedded Critical Care Unit.[citation needed] It specialises in orthopaedics, gynaecology, dermatology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and plastic surgery, and runs the Lister Fertility Clinic.[citation needed]

It generates revenue per bed of £1.073m a year. [1](subscription required)
