Mammoth Springs is an unincorperated community at the intersection of 16th Street and Spring Road in southern Dupage County, Illinois. It used to have a post office, which was closed in 2014. Mammoth Springs is home to one of the largest freshwater hot springs in the state. The springs were named after a large Mammoth skeleton, which was recovered in the woods nearby. The original trough of the spring was destroyed in the process of widening Spring Road in 1979, but the Illinois Historical Society has put a new one in its place. Most of the northern half of Downers Grove is located within the community, as well as a small portion of Oak Brook.
