Mark Chao (Chinese: 趙又廷; Wade–Giles: Chao Yu-t'ing; born 25 September 1984) is a Taiwanese-Canadian actor, singer and model.[1] He is the son of zh (Allen Chao (singer); Allen Chao). He graduated from the University of Victoria, Canada. He achieved a double major of sociology and economics degree. He started his career in the entertainment industry in Taiwan after he graduated. He established his reputation by starring as the main character Wu Ying Xiong in the television series Black & White. He achieved the 44th Golden Bell Awards: 2009 Best Leading Actor in a Television Series. His agency is Prajna Works (普拉嘉國際意像).

In 2010, he starred as Zhou Yi Wen in his first movie, Monga and achieved the 5th Asian Film Awards of Best New Actor.

In 2012, he participated in several successful movies including Caught in the Web, Love, The First Time, I Love You to You Love Me and Black & White episode 1.

In 2013, he participated in two hugely successful films, So Young and Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon.

Personal life

In April 9, 2012, he was spotted on a date by paparazzi in Nanjing with Gao Yuanyuan[2] who has also participated in the movie of Caught in the Web. He revealed his relationship with Gao Yuanyuan on April 17.[3] In June 5, 2014, Mark Chao and Gao Yuanyuan finished their marriage registration in Beijing.
