Michelle John is a British singer.[1]

Life and work

At the age of 18, John joined the The London Community Gospel Choir and toured Europe for eleven years. In 2002, she was a finalist for the Gospel Singer of the Year. John successfully began to work as a session musician in 1998, when she recorded with artists like Michael McDonald, Nick Carter, Lulu, The Lighthouse Family, Richard Ashcroft, Ms. Dynamite, David Gilmour, Annie Lennox and Samantha Mumba.[2] John found more fame in 2004, when Rock legend Eric Clapton recruited her to sing background vocals for his band. With Clapton, she appeared on highly successful releases such as Back Home, The Breeze: An Appreciation of JJ Cale, Planes, Trains and Eric, Slowhand at 70 – Live at the Royal Albert Hall, I Still Do as well as the Crossroads Guitar Festival video releases from 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2013. As part of the Clapton band, John toured both North and South America, Europe, Oceania, Asia and the Middle East.[3]
