Mika Chunuonsee (Thai: มิก้า ชูนวลศรี; rtgs: Mika Chunuansi; born 26 March 1989) is a Welsh-Thai footballer who plays for Bangkok United.[1]
Club career
Born in Bridgend, Wales, Chunuonsee joined Neath Athletic in July 2008 from Welsh League side Bryntirion Athletic. The talented midfielder was with Cardiff City as a scholar and spent two years, between 2005 and 2007 at Ninian Park, but he was released in August of that year.
He then spent the 2007/08 season gaining experience with Bridgend-based side Bryntirion and Neath boss Andy Dyer believes that he is now ready to make the step-up to the Welsh Premier League with the Eagles. He joined the Eagles in June 2008, just to leave them in September 2008, heading for Afan Lido F.C. [2] In January 2009 he scored his first goal for the club.[3]
In July 2009, he moved to Muangthong United F.C..[4]
He is currently training with Championship side Reading FC.
International career
The youngster was born and lives in Bridgend and represented Wales at Under 17 level in the UEFA Under 17 Elite Tournament in Cyprus for matches against Spain, Cyprus and Moldova March 2006. Other players involved in that squad were Senior Welsh Internationals Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Chris Gunter, whilst Eagles team-mates Kyle Graves, Daniel Lancey and Scott Evans were also involved.[5] He has recently been involved with the Thailand Under 20 squad.
In January 2015 Mika was called up by Kiatisuk Senamuang to play for Thailand in the 2015 King's Cup.
