The Millennium Music Conference (MMC) is an annual event that features 3 days of panels, clinics, workshops, mentoring, demo listening sessions, and a music business trade show, held in and around the city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The event celebrates new music and emerging talent with 3 nights of showcases by original acts and artists. Since its winter debut in 1997, the conference has grown into one of the premier music conferences and showcases on the East Coast. To participate in the event, artists and vendors are asked to submit or commit to the event months in advance. In addition, Music industry professionals are invited to attend as panelists, speakers, mentors, exhibitors and talent scouts to network, do business and share their experience with the registrants.
Event details
In the past the events has bee held at the Best Western Hotel & conference Center (New Cumberland), Hilton Hotel & Towers and Crowne Plaza (Harrisburg) and the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center (Camp Hill). The 2015 event was be held at the Best Western Premier - Central Hotel & Conference Center and over 30 showcase venues in and around the city of Harrisburg, PA. Typically, during the afternoons on Friday and Saturday there are business sessions with music business professionals sitting on panels and conducting clinics and workshops. There is also a special room for mentoring and demo listening where bands and artists can sit "One-On-One" with the producers, engineers, managers, agents, label reps, marketing and promotions executives, radio reps and professionals from all aspects of the music industry.
The event is used to network, and to assist aspiring musicians to obtain the music business skills need to get to the next level. Musicians can meet other musicians and people in the music business.
There is also a trade show that features exhibitors, from recording studios to music magazines, many of them sponsors and media partners. There is also daytime stage on the trade show floor. In the evenings, the selected showcase acts and artists perform their original music sets at venues all over the Harrisburg downtown and suburban area live music venues.
