Mitake-juku (御嶽宿 Mitake-juku?) was the forty-ninth of the sixty-nine stations of the Nakasendō. It is located in the present-day town of Mitake, Kani District, Gifu Prefecture, Japan.

History

Mitake-juku was originally established as a temple town, located around Gankō-ji Temple (願興寺). However, when the Nakasendō was established in the Edo period, it became one of the original Nakasendō post towns.[1] Travelers often came straight to Mitake-juku to avoid the difficult paths near Hosokute-juku.[1]
