Julius Joseph "Moose" Solters (born Julius Joseph Soltesz on March 22, 1906 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; died September 28, 1975) was a major league outfielder between 1934 and 1943.

Career

After nine seasons in the American League and 3421 plate appearances, Solters retired with a .289 career batting average. In 1941, Solters was struck by an errant baseball during a pregame warmup. The thrown ball fractured his skull and has been attributed to his going blind two years later.[1] Solters is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
