NiCole Robinson (born April 12, 1972 in Burley, Idaho) is an American stand-up comedian and actress. Raised in Paul, Idaho, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she is best known for her portrayal of quirky secretary Margaret Hooper on The West Wing. She is also recoginized as playing "The Smoking Woman" on an episode of Friends. She started her television acting career on Seinfeld, playing the waitress at Monk's Café for 3 episodes.
When asked about why she capitalizes the "C" in her name, she replied, "Why not? Life is too short to be all lowercase. Seriously, it's what poor people do to look fancy."[1]
In 2007, Robinson and her lobbyist husband, Craig Snyder, lost their infant son, Lincoln, to a rare and fatal genetic lung condition called alveolar capillary dysplasia. Since then, they have started a memorial fund called The 3 Angels Memorial Fund for ACD Research.[2] They have two other children together, a daughter named Shirley, born in 2005 and a son named L.J., born in 2010.
