Nong Pladuk Junction Railway Station is a railway station located in Nong Kop Subdistrict, Ban Pong District, Ratchaburi. It is a class 3 railway station and is located 64.196 km (39.9 mi) from Thon Buri Railway Station. It is on the Southern Line, and is the junction for minor branch lines which are the Nam Tok Line (Death Railway) and Suphan Buri Line.

History

Nong Pladuk Junction Railway Station was first opened in June 1903 as part of the first phase of the Southern Line construction between Thon Buri Station and Phetchaburi Station.

Death Railway

During the Second World War, Nong Pladuk Junction became the start of the Death Railway, which ended Thanbyuzayat in Burma. The construction of the railway was coordinated by the Imperial Japanese Army, whom of which was permitted to build due to an armistice signed with Thailand. The construction was started in Thailand in November 1942. At the end of the war, the railway became under the British, and the State Railway of Thailand bought and developed the line.

In June 1963, a railway line from Nong Pladuk was opened to Suphan Buri by Sarit Thanarat.
