Oswin Gibbs-Smith

Oswin Harvard Gibbs-Smith[1] (15 November 1901 – 1969)[2] was Dean of Winchester in the third quarter of the 20th century.[3]
He was born on and educated at Westminster and Clare College, Cambridge. Ordained in 1925, after a short spell as an Assistant Master at Harrow he began his ecclesiastical career with a curacy at St Margaret’s, Ilkley. Following this he was Vicar of John Keble Church, Mill Hill,[4] Rector of Christchurch, St Marylebone,[5] Archdeacon of London and a Canon Residentiary of St Paul’s Cathedral before his elevation to the Deanery.
